Join us as we embark on an extraordinary quest to connect the past, present, and future of The Danher Family Tree.

Our tree has some interesting characters! Our aim is to bring their stories to life. Take our Jane Baines (1849) for example, the young wife of John Danher who married on 25th September 1865 in St Mary’s Catholic Chapel, Stockton, Middlesborough, pictured in the photo above. Jane, a taylor, married at 17 and became the mother of 16 children one of whom is my great grandfather Henry Edward Danher.

We bring her life and her incredible story to life. What was it like to be the mother of 16 children? What was it like to look after four children when you are a young woman of 22? Today, we can hardly imagine what that is like! Most 22 years olds are barely out of full time education and still partying and planning their future which is full of potential and opportunity.

If you are a descendant of one of Jane and Johns children and would like to contribute a story please contact us here.
